CONTEST BREAKDOWN

Ever dreamed of becoming a ski or snowboard movie star? The 7th Annual 2016 Teton Gravity Research Grom Contest will make that dream a reality for one lucky participant. Groms 17 years of age or younger may submit up to one ski or snowboard edit for a chance to film with us during the 2016/2017 season and have an edit of their footage shown before our 2016 film tour. A TGR Swag Pack will also be awarded to our weekly top ski and snowboard edits. A committee of TGR  staff members will choose the winners primarily based on quality of action and level of riding. Facebook likes will not influence judging but may help get your video noticed. Submissions close April 30, 2016 at 11:59 PM MST.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

  • You may submit up to 1 edit a week starting March 7.
  • Our top ski and snowboard edit each week will win a TGR Swag Pack
  • Only 1 edit can win the Grand Prize.
  • Facebook "Likes" will not influence judging but will help your video get seen.
  • You must be 17 years old or younger on April 8, 2016.
  • Participants that are 12 years old or younger must have a parent or legal guardian submit edits using their own account and verify consent.
  • All athletes must have permission from their parents or legal guardian to enter this contest.
  • Submissions are open internationally.
  • Submissions will close April 30, 2016.

EDIT RULES

  • Videos must be under 3 minutes.
  • You must have rights from the filmer to submit the footage. Music must be cleared for posting in the edit on the Internet. Footage can be from anywhere in the world and made up of park, urban, powder, big mountain etc.

JUDGES AND CRITERIA

  • Teton Gravity Research staff and production team members will review the videos and pick the first place and grand prize winners. Members of the TGR production team will choose the weekly winners.
  • Quality of action and level of riding are the main deciding factors. A tight edit with your best footage will probably score better with the judges. Do not make them wait through your B shots to see your A shots. Length of video is not a deciding factor. We need to see enough to see your skills. A tight 2 minute edit will usually be more impressive than a loose 3 minute edit.
  • All decisions by TGR are final. TGR reserves the right to make any changes to the format, rules, and submission requirements at anytime during the contest.
