Successfully pulling off a whitewater kayaking mission is already a logistical miracle as it stands, but throw an entire camera crew into the mix, and it truly turns into a work of art.
When Trent and Knox were chosen as the winners of TGR’s Ford Tough Fun road trip contest, they wasted no time in assembling a crew that could keep up with them, cameras in hand. Filming stuff like skiing, snowboarding, and mountain biking in the backcountry is one thing, but filming whitewater kayaking is a particular nasty beast. Let’s put it this way, good kayaking doesn’t really exist in comfortable environments. Pair long approaches, technical ropework, impossible communication and the ever-present moisture, and you’ve got yourself a hell of a day on the job. It's no wonder that all the best kayaking cinematographers are amazing athletes in their own right.

Trent and Knox extended a big thanks to principal cinematographer Eric Parker and the support crew of filmers and producers that made this trip possible: “We just wanted to say thank you again for bringing us on for the project. It was an epic experience and we are super fired up on how the trip went. We have had that exact road trip on our minds for about four years now and we have never been able to pull it off for one reason or another. Being able to do it working with you guys, Parker, Brendan, and Olin made it the trip of a lifetime. You gave us a chance to live life how we’ve been wanting to live it since we were young and started kayaking. The opportunity you gave us with the Tough Fun road trip will remain with us forever.”
